Amy McGrath isn't the only one with a bone to pick with Mitch McConnell over a tweet. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at the Senate majority leader Monday night, hours after a photo posted to social media showing seven males clad in "Team Mitch" shirts poised to manhandle a cardboard cutout of her likeness was flagged by a Twitter user. "Break me off a piece of that," reads the photo's caption, which CBS News reports shows one male going in for a kiss and another poised to grab her neck. "These young men look like they work for you," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at McConnell. "Just wanted to clarify: are you paying for young men to practice groping & choking members of Congress w/ your payroll, or is this just the standard culture of #TeamMitch?"

McConnell’s campaign distanced itself from the image in a statement to ABC News, describing those pictured as high schoolers who don't work for the campaign. It reads: "We've watched for years as the far-left and the media look for every possible way to demonize, stereotype, and publicly castigate every young person who dares to get involved with Republican politics. Team Mitch in no way condones any aggressive, suggestive, or demeaning act toward life sized cardboard cutouts of any gender in a manner similar to what we saw from President Obama's speech writing staff several years ago" (ostensibly a reference to this.)
