Al Sharpton and President Trump are now engaging in a war of words. In the morning, Trump called Sharpton a "con man" who "hates whites" after it emerged that Sharpton was on his way to Baltimore to respond to the president's weekend criticism of the city and Rep. Elijah Cummings. Now Sharpton has arrived in Baltimore and is fighting back. "He's not mature enough to take criticism," said Sharpton of Trump, per CBS Baltimore. "He can't help it. He's like a child." Sharpton also took to Twitter to issue this response: "Trump says I'm a troublemaker & con man. I do make trouble for bigots. If he really thought I was a con man he would want me in his cabinet."

Sharpton added that Trump "has a particular venom for blacks,” taking note of the president's description of Baltimore as "rodent infested." Trump might attack Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer, "but he never says that their districts or that their states are places that no human being wants to live," said Sharpton. As for Trump, he's accusing his critics of hypocrisy. "Crazy Bernie Sanders recently equated the City of Baltimore to a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY!" he wrote. "Based on that statement, I assume that Bernie must now be labeled a Racist, just as a Republican would if he used that term." He added that "Baltimore can be brought back, maybe even to new heights of success and glory, but not with King Elijah and that crew. When the leaders of Baltimore want to see the City rise again, I am in a very beautiful oval shaped office waiting for your call!" (More Al Sharpton stories.)
