"Emotions were still a bit raw" as Sarah Silverman sat down for her first big interview since the cancellation of her Hulu show, I Love You, America, after 21 episodes. "It came as a surprise … It is just so heartbreaking because I kind of feel cut off at the knees," the 48-year-old comedian said Tuesday on the Daily Beast's "Last Laugh" podcast. She seemed to have come to terms with the decision. "I know that they did love the show, but I think what it cost compared to its popularity or the eyes that they had on it didn’t—you know, the people that make the decisions there don't have any connection to the show," she stated. But her "diplomacy … was short-lived," per Fox News.

Silverman soon threw in a dig, noting Hulu billed her $1,500 for hair and makeup at the 2018 Emmys, where I Love You, America was nominated for outstanding variety sketch series. "Even Comedy Central, like 15 years ago, paid for that s--- when I was nominated," Silverman said, per Page Six. "Wouldn't it be worth them paying $1,500 to not have me on Matt Wilstein's podcast saying Hulu wouldn't pay $1,500 for an Emmy for their network?" She also noted Netflix—a company she hadn't worked with in a year—sent her flowers and made a donation to a charity she supports around her 2018 Hollywood Walk of Fame induction, while Hulu didn't even send an email. "It's just such a bad look for you guys," she said. (More Sarah Silverman stories.)
