Interview Goofs You Can't Make Up

Do research, don't lie, be professional: Interview tips seem basic enough to follow, but CNN reports the many job seekers have committed serious gaffes we all should learn from:

  • Asking interviewer to leave office so you can take a call
  • Admitting you may quit job if your uncle dies and inheritance kicks in
  • Requesting a ride home
  • Smelling your armpits

  • Refusing to give a writing sample because all of it was "classified" for the CIA
  • Saying you were fired for hitting your last boss
  • Admitting your next stop is the bar
  • Telling them you're not a numbers person ... for an accounting job
  • Flushing the toilet during a phone interview
  • Brushing hair during the meeting
