Barring a miracle, LeBron James is going to find himself in an unusual position this year when the NBA playoffs start—as a spectator, not a player. James joined the Los Angeles Lakers before the season, but hopes that he could turn around the struggling franchise have fizzled, at least in 2019. How bad is it? An angry Snoop Dogg says he's selling his box seats this year for $5 and called for the players to be taken away in a "slave ship," per Yahoo Sports. The "slave ship" line has drawn criticism, and TMZ reports that those close to Snoop are chalking it up to a heat-of-the-moment slip-up.

The 30-34 Lakers lost for the fifth time in six games Monday night, leaving them six games out of the final playoff spot with 18 games left, reports USA Today. In other words, mathematically alive but toast in reality. It's so hopeless that some are calling for the Lakers to sit James for the rest of the season to make sure he doesn't get injured, and a skeptical James addressed the idea. "That conversation hasn't occurred, but I'm sure it can happen soon," he tells ESPN, though he added that it "would take a lot of convincing" from upper management before he'd agree.
