A fraternity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was on Friday suspended for hazing, but the particulars of the offense aren't as harrowing as hazing stories often are. Citing a school press release, the Journal-Sentinel reports Alpha Sigma Phi's hazing of pledges during the fall semester included running the errands of senior frat members, carrying fruit on campus, and wearing Dora the Explorer backpacks. WISC reports the university's Student Organization Code of Conduct prohibits the hazing of new members. The suspension is up March 24, though the frat is on probation until Dec. 11. The Daily Cardinal notes it can appeal, but for now it's barred from holding activities and events. (A frat at Cornell is on probation over an offensive "Pig Roast" game.)
