Richard Gere Is New Dad at 69

A new dad at nearly 70: Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva have welcomed their first child together, a little more than nine months after their wedding last year. A rep says the 35-year-old Silva gave birth to a baby boy in New York City a few days ago, E! Online reports. Gere, 69, already has a 19-year-old son, Homer, from his marriage to Casey Lowell, while Silva has a 6-year-old son from her marriage to Govind Friedland, reports CNN. The newborn's name has not been disclosed. (The couple announced the pregnancy last fall with the assistance of the Dalai Lama.)
