Authorities in St. Louis are still trying to get to the bottom of how off-duty police officer Katlyn Alix was shot and killed last week while at the apartment of an on-duty colleague, and now the latter is facing allegations that he, along with his partner who was also on duty, had been drinking during their shift. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports on a disciplinary document from Lt. Willie Brown that notes Nathaniel Hendren and his partner, Patrick Riordan, "consumed alcoholic beverages while on-duty," and that Hendren "recklessly discharged a firearm resulting in the death of another officer." Riordan says he only had a "few sips of a beer" while hanging out with Hendren and Alix, per his lawyer, who tells the paper his client "blew all zeros" on the BAC tester after the shooting.

Hendren's attorney, meanwhile, says he hasn't seen the results of his client's drug and alcohol test, accusing the St. Louis PD and other officials of keeping him in the dark. He also blasts as "categorically false" rumors that cocaine was found at his client's apartment, per the Riverfront Times. Alix, 24, died after she and Hendren allegedly played a game of Russian roulette. Whether he was drinking or not, Hendren reportedly lost it after he and Riordan took Alix to the hospital, with sources telling the Post-Dispatch that Hendren head-butted the window of a police SUV, causing minor injuries to his head in the process. In his mugshot, he's seen with a black eye. Hendren, who's been charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action, posted $10,000 of a $100,000 total bond Thursday and was released from jail on house arrest.
