A woman was booted from a United Airlines flight after going on a tirade about the two passengers she was seated between. The woman was caught on video by one of those passengers, Norma Rodgers—whom the Washington Post identifies as "an award-winning nurse and advocate against gun violence"—as she spoke on the phone to someone, calling Rodgers, who was seated next to the window, and the man in the aisle seat "two big pigs." She complained of them "squishing" her and more, the New York Post reports. The Jan. 2 incident is making headlines after Rodgers posted her video to Facebook, where it received more than 2 million views, CBS New York reports.
Rodgers finally asked a flight attendant to reseat the woman over her "verbal abuse," but as the flight attendant led the woman out of her seat, other passengers on the flight rebuked her for her comments. "I eat salad, OK?" she replied. She was ultimately removed from the Las Vegas to Newark flight. "United flight attendants care about the safety and well-being of all of our customers which is why they acted quickly to find a different seat for the disruptive customer," an airline spokesperson says. "When it became clear that this passenger’s behavior was likely to be problematic on this flight, she was provided alternate travel arrangements first thing the next morning."
