Woman Rescued After 3 Days in NYC Elevator

Feel like you had a bad weekend? It could have been worse. The New York Times reports a woman who worked at the residence at 48 East 65th Street in Manhattan was trapped in the townhouse's elevator from Friday night until the owners returned home Monday morning. A rep for the NYFD says it responded to the home around 10am and forced open the doors of the elevator, which CBS New York reports was stuck between the second and third floors.

The AP reports the 53-year-old woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The city Department of Buildings is tasked with figuring out what went wrong; no issues were detected during a July inspection. The home is owned by the investor Warren Stephens and his wife Harriet.
