A game of hide and seek turned fatal over the weekend when a 21-year-old man fell to his death. Detroit police say a group of friends was playing the game between midnight and 1:30am on Saturday morning in a vacant building, the Detroit Free Press reports. The man was trying to hide when, police believe, he likely fell down a 9th-floor elevator shaft. When his friends couldn't find him, they left; they returned in the morning and found his body in the elevator shaft on the first floor "amid piles of debris," per the Detroit News. Police say the abandoned facility, a former food storage warehouse that closed in 2002, is a popular spot for trespassing. (A game of Capture-the-Flag turned fatal.)
