President Bush boarded Air Force One yesterday to attend to some family business: giving away his daughter Jenna at her wedding at twilight tomorrow, near a lake on the family's Crawford, Texas, ranch. The First Daughter, who opted against a "stuffy" wedding at the White House, will be wearing Oscar de la Renta as she ties the knot with longtime boyfriend Henry Hager.
The wedding, which will include a barbecue lunch, is closed to the press—including a no-fly zone to deter pesky paparazzi—but that hasn't stopped a media convergence on Crawford, where shops are stocked with wedding souvenirs, including mugs with Jenna and Henry's engagement photo. Shops catering to tourists have fallen on hard times as the president's approval rates have plummeted, the Houston Chronicle reports. (More George W. Bush stories.)
