Britney Spears won't be starting her new Vegas gig—expected to be another huge money-maker—in February after all. The singer announced that her "Domination" show is on hiatus so she can be with her father as he recovers from a serious health scare, reports People. Jamie Spears, 66, suffered a ruptured colon and spent nearly a month in the hospital but is now at home and expected to make a full recovery. “I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say,” wrote the 37-year-old singer in a tweet, one that included an old photo of her with her parents. She said that her father almost died and that the decision to postpone the show didn't come easily. “However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make."

Huge amounts of money are involved. Spears grossed an estimated $138 million over 250 performances of "Britney: Piece of Me," her previous Vegas show, reports the New York Times. She was expected to pull in $507,000 per show in the "Domination" run. Jamie Spears plays a huge role in his daughter's life, even more so since he and a lawyer were given legal authority to oversee the singer's estate following her 2008 breakdown. In fact, the attorney who works with Jamie Spears on the conservatorship requested in October that his fee be increased to $426,000 a year because the singer's career was booming so strongly. In court papers, he said the value of her estate has gone from almost nothing to $20 million since 2014. (More Britney Spears stories.)
