Politics | Election 2018 Dead Pimp Wins in Nevada Landslide Republican will be chosen to fill Dennis Hof's seat By Arden Dier Posted Nov 7, 2018 7:18 AM CST Copied Dennis Hof poses with some of his "working girls" of his Moonlite BunnyRanch in Mound House, Nev., in 2008. (Lisa J. Tolda/The Reno Gazette-Journal via AP, File) A dead pimp has been elected to Nevada's state legislature, and in a landslide, to boot. Dennis Hof—a brothel owner, former reality star, and Donald Trump-style Republican who hoped to combat a movement seeking to ban brothels in two of seven counties where they can legally operate—defeated Democrat Lesia Romanov in the 36th Assembly District with what HuffPo describes as 63% of the vote. That's despite Hof being found dead at one of his brothels outside Las Vegas on Oct. 16, reports NBC News. Ballots had already been mailed by that point, and GOP officials urged voters not to let the seat go blue. The Nevada Republican Party will appoint another to take his seat. (Hof had higher goals than the state legislature.) Read These Next South Africa's weekend arrived with a grim start. Bodies found at lifetime felon's former home. Olivia Nuzzi, Vanity Fair to part.
