Jimmy Fallon took a lot of heat in September 2016 for a "softball" Tonight Show interview with then-candidate Donald Trump—and in an interview published Saturday, he told the Hollywood Reporter that he still feels bad about it now. "I made a mistake. I’m sorry if I made anyone mad. And, looking back, I would do it differently," said Fallon, who was accused of "humanizing" Trump with the interview, in which he ruffled Trump's hair—with permission. "It was definitely a downtime," and it was "bad for morale" at the show, Fallon said. Trump responded to Fallon's remarks with derision in a tweet Sunday, accusing the comic of "whimpering," the Hill reports.

Fallon "is now whimpering to all that he did the famous 'hair show' with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have 'humanized' me-he is taking heat," Trump tweeted. "He called & said 'monster ratings.' Be a man Jimmy!" Fallon responded with a gesture, and it wasn't a rude one, Vulture reports. In a tweet, he said that in response to Trump's tweet, he would be making a donation in his name to RAICES, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services. The Texas nonprofit, which provides legal representation to immigrants and refugees, has received millions of dollars in donations since a campaign began to raise $1,500 to reunite a migrant parent and child.
