A Centralia, Wash., man took the idea of "help thy neighbor" just a little too literally. Wellington Waggoner was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly grabbing a 12-year-old boy who was out warming up the family car, picking him up by his coat, and insisting that he do yard work, reports the Daily Chronicle. Then Waggoner had him do other chores. When the boy's family noticed that he was missing, the mother and two siblings found him at Waggoner’s house. They tried to explain that the boy needed to go to school, and had a test to take, but Waggoner, who is 29 years old, 6'9" and 250 lbs, wasn't having it. "He's got a test?" Waggener responded, according to the police. "Well, let's all do the Pledge of Allegiance." He told the family that he needed their help as well and insisted that they pile up firewood and pick up garbage, according to Q13-Fox.

At one point, Waggoner left the family long enough for the 13-year-old sister to call the police, who arrested him on charges of unlawful imprisonment, malicious harassment, and fourth-degree assault. This is not Waggoner’s first run-in with the law, reports the Tri-City Herald: He was charged with burglary in 2014, and while in jail he was convicted of assaulting jailers. In 2016 he was in trouble again, this time for kicking out the rear window of a police car. "He’s kind of an intimidating guy," Commander Pat Fitzgerald of the Centralia Police Department said, adding that on another occasion it took "five police officers to get him into custody."
