Production of Catfish: The TV Show has been temporarily suspended as MTV probes sexual misconduct allegations against host and executive producer Nev Schulman. "We take these allegations very seriously," an MTV rep says in a statement obtained by the Daily Beast. "We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation." In the reality show, launched in 2012, Schulman tries to determine whether people in online relationships are faking their identities. A woman who was on the show in 2015 says Schulman sexually harassed her while the episode was being produced, propositioning her for sex and suggesting she "re-evaluate" her sexuality. She is a lesbian, and says Schulman frequently asked her if she was bisexual, People reports.

She also accused a female production assistant of getting her drunk and implied the PA sexually assaulted her; she says she fell into "the worst possible depression" after the incident. Schulman, 33, who is married and has a 17-month-old, denies the allegations, which were made in a YouTube video. "The behavior described in this video did not happen and I'm fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth," he said in a statement. "I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions—but these claims are false." (Read more sexual misconduct stories.)
