The body of New England Patriots defensive end Marquise Hill was pulled from Lake Pontchartrain this afternoon, almost a day after the New Orleans native was reported missing. His agent told the Boston Globe that Hill, 24, and a young woman fell off a personal watercraft in a strong current. He had played three NFL seasons, appearing in 13 games.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Hill could swim but was not wearing a life vest, agent Bob Elias said. "He helped her stay calm," Elias said of Hill's companion. "He ended up saving her life." Hill was a second-round draft pick out of LSU and played on the team that won Super Bowl XXXIX as a rookie. (More New England Patriots stories.)
