Coming up with a baby name is no easy feat, with sound, meaning, and nicknames to consider. Coming up with two, a boy and a girl name in cases where the baby's gender isn't known, is even harder. Luckily, soon-to-be parents can avoid this. Gender-neutral baby names are all the rage, reports Quartz, which reviewed Social Security Administration data to give baby names a "genderedness score" based on how often they're applied to boys or girls. A score of zero means a name is split evenly between the sexes. The top 10 gender-neutral baby names, with at least 500 babies given that name in 2016:

  1. Charlie: 0.02
  2. Oakley: 0.05
  3. Justice: 0.05
  4. Landry: 0.07
  5. Armani: 0.07

  1. Skyler: 0.09
  2. Azariah: 0.1
  3. Finley: 0.16
  4. Royal: 0.16
  5. Lennon: 0.19
