You never know what's going to happen at the Golden Globes, or who's going to show up. Per, James Franco had vowed to bring Tommy Wiseau, the eccentric filmmaker he portrayed in The Disaster Artist, to the awards show, and he kept his word—and Wiseau at arm's length—when he won the award for best actor in a comedy or musical. To raucous applause, Franco told Wiseau to join him on the stage for the honors, but when The Room director tried to grab the mic, Franco gave him a gentle, giggly shove (and yes, there's already a GIF for it). "James, refusing to be Kanye'd by Tommy," EW writer Samantha Highfill tweeted. Still, Franco noted, "I'm very happy to share this moment with him today," per the Independent.

Receiving a somewhat chillier reception was Tonya Harding, the champion figure skater who was the subject of this year's I, Tonya and linked to the 1994 attack on fellow skater Nancy Kerrigan. Actress Allison Janney won a Golden Globe for best supporting actress for portraying Harding's mother in the film, and she thanked Harding, sitting at her table at the show, in her acceptance speech, per the Miami Herald. "Tonya Harding is here tonight, and I'd like to thank her for sharing her story with [screenwriter] Steven [Rogers] and allowing him to tell every side of the story," Janney said. But there were some raised eyebrows on Twitter: While some said they were glad she got "a second chance," others weren't buying it. "Whatever you think of I, Tonya, don't have Tonya Harding at awards shows like, 'It's time she had her moment!' It's gross," tweeted entertainment writer Mark Harris. (More Golden Globes stories.)
