It looks like Houston Texans owner Bob McNair's repeated apologies over the weekend for a comment he made about the NFL's national anthem protests haven't satisfied his players. Per ESPN, the Texans are planning a demonstration before their game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday to protest McNair's comment that the NFL "can't have the inmates running the prison." That comment came during an Oct. 17 meeting between players and owners to discuss the protests and was made public Oct. 27 in an ESPN the Magazine story. Texan players discussed a possible walkout during Friday practice and two players did not show up, reportedly in protest.

McNair has apologized twice, first in a statement on Friday and again on Saturday, when he called his comment "very regretful." "I am truly sorry to the players for how this has impacted them and the perception that it has created of me, which could not be further from the truth," McNair said. He also met with his players on Saturday. Those players had a meeting of their own Saturday to discuss Sunday's action. Texans player Duane Brown believes "up to 65 to 70 percent" of his teammates could take part in the demonstration but says they won't be removing the team's decals from their helmets, as had been considered.
