When it comes to the most reliable cars, only one US brand made the top 10—General Motors' Buick—while three other domestic brands, Cadillac, GMC, and Ram, rank in the bottom three spots of the full list of 27. Consumer Reports is out with its annual list for 2017, based on a survey of owners involving around 640,000 vehicles, and the organization says that with an increase in new technologies for cars, drivers are reporting "growing pains" for newer models. "More often than not, our data suggests it's prudent for consumers to wait for the technology to mature," the director of auto testing at Consumer Reports advises. The organization found the top three owner complaints deal with in-car electronics, noises and leaks, and power equipment. The top 10 most reliable, per USA Today:

  1. Toyota, for the fifth consecutive year
  2. Lexus
  3. Kia
  4. Audi
  5. BMW
  6. Subaru
  7. Infiniti
  8. Buick
  9. Honda
  10. Hyundai
