The adopted son of Woody Allen and Mia Farrow alleges that Farrow was abusive toward their children. Moses Farrow's accusations were made to Eric Lax, who has now written a book about Allen's film career to be published Tuesday. A newly released excerpt of Start to Finish: Woody Allen and the Art of Moviemaking reveals Moses Farrow's claims, which also include allegations that Farrow coached her daughter with Allen, Dylan, to accuse Allen of sexual abuse, the New York Times reports. The Times notes that Moses Farrow has made the same accusations in the past, but goes "into far more detail" in the book. (In fact, in 2014 when Moses Farrow claimed his sister was never afraid of their father until their mother coached her to be, Dylan responded insisting that her mother never "planted false memories in my brain."

Moses Farrow says his mother was both physically abusive (she hit him multiple times, he says) and emotionally manipulative (she pressured the children to do what she wanted them to, he says). "She cultivated and brainwashed me," he is quoted as telling Lax. Dylan's 1992 accusations against her father ultimately resulted in Mia Farrow getting custody of the couple's children, and she has continued to stand by her allegations. Mia Farrow responded to the news coming out of Lax's book release with a statement. "Moses has cut off his entire family including his ex-wife who was pregnant when he left," it reads. "It’s heartbreaking and bewildering that he would make this up, perhaps to please Woody. We all miss and love him very much." Allen has consistently denied Dylan's allegations, and he was never charged with a crime related to them, People reports. (More Mia Farrow stories.)
