George and Amal Clooney's Clooney Foundation for Justice has given a $1 million grant to the Southern Poverty Law Center to combat hate groups in the US, the Los Angeles Times reports. "What happened in Charlottesville, and what is happening in communities across our country, demands our collective engagement to stand up to hate," the Clooneys said in a statement. The couple also included a subtle dig at President Trump. "There are no two sides to bigotry and hate," the Hollywood Reporter quotes George Clooney as saying. The SPLC is a nonprofit that tracks domestic hate groups and extremists. (More George Clooney stories.)
