Samantha Bee's political satire show is apologizing for a bit that mocked attendees at the recent CPAC convention for having "Nazi hair"—it turns out that one of the targets actually has brain cancer. "We deeply apologize for offending @_that_kyle in our CPAC segment," reads a tweet from Full Frontal With Samantha Bee. "We only learned of his condition today & have removed him from the piece." In the piece that aired Wednesday, the show displayed images of various people at the convention after declaring, "This year, the bow ties were gone and replaced by Nazi hair." One of the images was that of young writer Kyle Coddington, who has a partially shaved head with thick hair on top, notes Mediaite.
Coddington, however, has stage 4 glioblastoma, which supporters quickly began pointing out. He writes for Outset, which covers conservative and libertarian issues, per the New York Times, and the website has the segment embedded here. Coddington himself tweeted about his look in self-deprecating fashion last month: "People who will be attending CPAC, a heads up...my hair style slightly resembles Richard Spencer's but at least I have an excuse...cancer." (Spencer is a white nationalist.) Bee's TBS show has made a $1,000 donation to a GoFundMe page for Coddington's medical expenses. (More Samantha Bee stories.)
