Television channels live-streamed footage of a deer stuck on the ice of a frozen river Monday, some of them airing it for up to three hours—and hundreds of thousands of people watched, NPR reports. Finally, two-and-a-half hours into the footage, rescuers were able to slide the deer over and hoist it up onto the riverbank. It had been chased onto the frozen river in Simsbury, Conn., by coyotes. Sadly, though rescuers initially said the deer ran off into the woods, they later noticed it had not moved much and it was eventually euthanized, NBC Connecticut reports. It had injuries including a broken shoulder and jaw. (More viral video stories.)
