Mariah Carey has more to say about her botched New Year's Eve performance: The producers of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve "foiled me," she says in an audio statement posted to Twitter Sunday. She goes on to claim, once again, that the production team had technical problems and her ear monitors didn't work. After she stopped singing, as pre-recorded vocals continued playing in the background, producers "capitalized" on the snafu and "it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me."

"It's not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, and thousands of people celebrating, especially when their ear monitors are not working properly," she says, per Rolling Stone. A Carey spokesperson confirms the tweet is authentic, the AP reports. "My feelings are hurt, but I'm working through this," says Carey, who adds that she's planning to step back from "media moments and social-media moments" for a while in advance of her March tour. Carey's manager told E! Friday that after the problems, she asked producers to cut the West Coast feed and allow for a do-over, but they refused. Producers have insisted they did not sabotage Carey.
