It takes only weeks for 80% of people to drop their New Year's resolutions, per US News, but whether you're among that group may depend on where you live. To determine the best and worst cities for residents to keep resolutions, WalletHub analyzed a host of data on income, fitness, smoking and drinking habits, and more. The best and worst, with a score out of 100:

Best:

  1. Salt Lake City, Utah: 69
  2. San Francisco, Calif.: 66
  3. Scottsdale, Ariz.: 65
  4. Seattle, Wash.: 64.5
  5. Plano, Texas: 64

Worst:

  1. Detroit, Mich.: 38
  2. Newark, NJ: 39
  3. Augusta, Ga.: 41.5
  4. Shreveport, La.: 42.5
  5. Baltimore, Md.: 43
