Alexis Arquette, the actress and transgender activist who was born Robert Arquette and whose transition to female was documented in a 2007 film, died Sunday at age 47, CNN reports. Arquette was surrounded by members of her famous family; her siblings include actors Rosanna, David, and Patricia Arquette. David Arquette reportedly said in February that Alexis no longer identified as transgender and had termed herself "gender suspicious," sometimes identifying as a man and sometimes as a woman. Arquette's family confirmed her death, but did not specify a cause. Arquette had appeared in The Wedding Singer and Pulp Fiction, among other films. (More celebrity death stories.)
