In what might be one of the weirdest celebrity feuds ever reported, Andrew Lloyd Webber is furious with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Scherzinger pulled out of her role in Cats just before rehearsals started for its return to Broadway, the Guardian reports. In an interview with the Economist Radio Thursday, Webber said the move made him look like "an absolute twot." "A week before we were due to go into rehearsal ... she calls me and says she’s decided she wants to do X Factor, having agreed everything. I mean, she’s crazy. But the American producers just took a view, 'Well, fine, we’ll get somebody else,' because she’s actually not very well known in America, amazingly. She’s much better known here."

Scherzinger had also played the role of Grizabella in the London revival of Cats. "I’m furious because I really believe she’s the most fantastically talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London Palladium here, and it makes me look like an absolute twot with them all," Webber said. "But never mind, there’ll be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony award." As the Guardian notes, Scherzinger's return to judge on the British version of X Factor has not been officially confirmed. (More Andrew Lloyd Webber stories.)
