Sarah Palin Will Be the Next Judge Judy: Report

It's the natural progression in politics: city councilor, mayor, governor, vice presidential candidate, Fox News talking head, reality-TV judge. That's right, Sarah Palin—despite lacking a law degree or any sort of legal experience—is going Judge Judy on us, People reports. The former Alaska governor signed a production deal in February and will soon be meeting with networks and shooting a pilot for a nationally syndicated reality courtroom show; a production company spokesperson confirmed the news to the AP. The executive that gave both Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown their start is involved, and the untitled show is likely to debut in the fall of 2017, airing five days a week.

While she may not have experience as a judge, Palin does have reality-TV experience. Politico notes she hosted Sarah Palin's Alaska on TLC for one season back in 2010. And as for that lack of legal experience, the source tells People it shouldn't be a problem. "Palin's telegenic personality, wide appeal, and common-sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format," the source says. Bustle seems to agree: "If you think about it, Palin is the perfect choice to host a courtroom reality show. She's got all of the opinions and none of the experience to back it up. It's everything a reality show could want." (More Sarah Palin stories.)
