Kasich: We'll Have 'an Open Convention, Take a Chill Pill'

It's the first day of spring, but John Kasich is settling in for a long, likely hot and bothered summer and the Republican convention that descends on his home turf in July. "Everybody has got to face the fact that we're going to an open, multi-ballot convention," the Ohio governor told CNN's State of the Union on Sunday morning. "That's where we're headed. And the convention is an extension of what we're going through right now. ... And that's fine. What's everybody so panicked about this? Everybody needs to take a little chill pill to tell you the truth."

Later, addressing Donald Trump's prediction of riots if he loses the convention, Kasich responded, "I don't think that kind of language is appropriate, to talk about violence and rioting. So why doesn't everyone just realize we're better in America when we're together and we're unified. And if you go to a convention and you lose, be a big enough person to say, 'I gave it my best and I didn't win.' That's what I would say if I didn't." (More John Kasich stories.)
