It's official: Mother Teresa will be made a saint of the Catholic Church at a ceremony on Sept. 4, reports Reuters. Pope Francis, who signed off on the missionary's second miracle in December, announced the move at a meeting of cardinals on Tuesday. Teresa died in 1997 at age 87; it's unclear whether Francis will travel to Calcutta for her canonization or hold the ceremony at the Vatican. Some 300,000 people traveled to Rome for her beatification in 2003, decades after Teresa was awarded the 1979 Nobel peace prize for her work helping the poor and elderly in the slums of Calcutta, India, per the Guardian. (A 2013 study found Teresa was "anything but a saint.")
