With his offer to pay the legal fees of a man who punched a protester, Donald Trump is "literally inciting violence" at his rallies and he needs to stop it, Bernie Sanders said at a town hall event in Ohio on Sunday. "Trump has got to get on the TV and tell his supporters that violence in the political process in America is not acceptable," Sanders said, per the Hill. "End of discussion." The senator called Trump a "pathological liar." Earlier, Trump accused Sanders of lying, blamed Sanders' supporters for Friday's cancellation of a rally in Chicago, and complained that the reaction would be very different if Trump supporters descended on a Sanders rally, Washington Post reports.

At the town hall event, Hillary Clinton also focused on Trump instead of her rival for the Democratic nomination, accusing him of "political arson" and saying she would be the best choice to beat him in a general election, CNN reports. "I'm not going to spill the beans right now, but suffice it to say, there are many arguments we could use against him," she said. Politico reports that when the discussion turned to trade deals, Sanders made what appeared to be an inadvertent Trump reference. "Trade is a positive thing, nobody is talking about building a wall around the United States," he said. As the audience giggled, he added: "Oh, wait. There is one guy. Let me rephrase: Nobody rational is talking about building a wall." (More Election 2016 stories.)
