• Bag of cash: Near Philadelphia, 61-year-old Bob Tracey spotted a leather pouch in the road while driving at night and stopped to pick it up, figuring it might be a lost purse. Turns out the pouch with no ID was filled with $15,000 in cash. The transit employee briefly entertained thoughts of an easy payday before turning it over to police. Cops have no idea whose money it is and lauded Tracey's honesty, but it's not clear that he'll get even a small slice as a reward. So why didn't he keep the cash? "It's not my way," he tells the Philadelphia Inquirer.

• Fireplace treasure: In Oslo, a 27-year-old man found an envelope filled with $38,000 underneath a stone by the fireplace of his new apartment. Vemund Thorkildsen celebrated, then remembered that he'd bought the place from a cancer foundation, which had acquired it as part of an estate, reports the AP. "It would have been nice to go on a vacation," says Thorkildsen, who donated all the money to the cancer group. "But that money wasn't mine."
