File this under really crazy twists: Last week's news about a couple getting arrested for having sex in public while riding a glass-enclosed cabin on a Ferris wheel over the Las Vegas Strip just got much odder, courtesy of the gentleman who was in flagrante delicto. Philip Frank Panzica III spoke with KTNV and explained he was in Vegas to get married—but not to Chloe Scordianos, the woman he was arrested with on Feb. 5. In an video interview given from his car with his betrothed, Mistie Bozant, by his side, the two explain they had known each other for two months and, after getting engaged, intended to marry in Vegas ... that day. But Panzica, for reasons that are unclear, on the day in question thought Bozant was pregnant and that the baby wasn't his.

So he headed out to the Strip to let off steam and had "probably like four, five" margaritas, then met the 21-year-old. When asked by KTNV if he knew what was going to happen before he boarded the High Roller, he nods his head in the affirmative. "It wasn't planned, it was just, I felt it." But he didn't know they were visible. "We get up to the highest point and we were like... We're golden!" (Not so much: The Review-Journal cites court documents that state "the guests in Cabin 15 not only noticed but were video recording the acts" with their phones.) As for security's intercom warnings to stop, he says he thought they were a recording. Bozant ultimately bailed him out, forking over $3,000. "Doesn't that show what a good heart I have?" she says. It's not clear whether the two plan to set a new wedding date. Scordianos and Panzica, meanwhile, have a March 9 court date. (More Las Vegas stories.)
