Yet another Good Samaritan lost his life while attempting to come to the aid of his fellow man, this time in Houston on Sunday night. Police say a 31-year-old exited his pickup truck around 9:45pm to help a motorist whose car was disabled on the Eastex Freeway, only to be hit by a Pontiac Grand Prix. The Houston Chronicle reports the collision was so intense that man's parked pickup flipped over.
While the victim hasn't been named, the driver of the Grand Prix has: Adrian Hernandez, 26, has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter. Police say in a release that Hernandez first collided with a truck on the freeway then "crossed five lanes of traffic and struck the victim, who was standing outside his vehicle on the freeway shoulder."
