The big attention-getter from the first half of Thursday night's debate is Hillary Clinton accusing Bernie Sanders of a "very artful smear" about her record. Clinton said the Sanders' campaign has been suggesting that she's too cozy with Wall Street donors, reports CNN. "Time and time again, by innuendo, by insinuation, there is this attack that he is putting forth," Clinton said. "If you've got something to say, say it. It's time to end the very artful smear that you and your campaign have been carrying out."
Sanders responded by attacking the current system in broad terms: "There is a reason why these people are putting huge amounts of money into our political system." But he did not specifically accuse Clinton of any improprieties, notes the New York Times. And she insisted that "you will not find that I ever changed a view or a vote because of any donation that I ever received."
