3-Year-Old Found Safe Hours After Carjacking
Police released this photo of the suspect attempting a robbery.   (Milwaukee Police Department)

A little girl in Milwaukee is safe after what must have been the most terrifying few hours of her and her parents' lives. Aubri Degeffered, who turned 3 a few weeks ago, was in a Volvo SUV that was carjacked at around 6:50pm on Sunday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The suspect, who forced the driver out of the vehicle and took off with the little girl still inside, is believed to have tried to rob a gas station in nearby Brookfield, Wis., less than an hour later. An Amber Alert was issued and the suspect was captured in Lake Mills, Wis., around 50 miles west of Milwaukee, after police acted on information from citizens, Fox6 reports. Police announced at 11pm that Aubri was safe. (An Ohio man did more than call 911 when he heard an Amber Alert about the car right in front of him.)
