Attention, everyone: We can finally stop arguing about The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones, Wu-Tang Clan vs. A Tribe Called Quest, GWAR vs. Michael Bolton. That's because Billboard has finally named the objective, indisputable greatest album of all time: Adele's 21. To reach that conclusion, Billboard awarded points to albums for each week they spent on the Billboard 200 and at what position throughout the 52-year history of the chart. And you just can't argue with the public's purchasing habits. According to Billboard, 21 spent two dozen weeks as the number-one album in the world, part of 81 weeks in the top 10. In fact, 21 is still on the Billboard 200 despite being released more than four years ago.

To earn the honor of greatest album of all time, Adele's 21 beat out the soundtrack to The Sound of Music, which spent 109 weeks in the top 10 but only two weeks as the number-one album. But don't worry Beatle-maniacs, Billboard named the Fab Four the greatest band of all time. The Beatles had an impressive 19 songs top the Billboard 200 for a total of 132 weeks in the number-one spot. (More Billboard charts stories.)
