No Trick: Elderly Woman's Missing Ring Found

The case of the missing wedding ring has been solved, and not a moment too soon. WDSU reports an 86-year-old Louisiana resident lost her wedding ring while handing out candy to trick-or-treaters Saturday. According to the Slidell Police Department, everyone was afraid she had dropped the ring, which has great sentimental value to her, into some kid's plastic pumpkin or pillowcase. Police shared the woman's story on Facebook Monday, and it went viral, WDSU reports.

But minutes before a press conference scheduled Tuesday to give more information about the woman and her missing ring, police announced the wayward piece of jewelry had been found in her yard near where she was handing out candy, according to the Times-Picayune. "The family wanted to thank everyone for sharing the story and for offering their assistance," the police department writes on its Facebook page. Another mystery all wrapped up.
