Jeb Bush maybe should have issued a TMI warning at a forum in Las Vegas on Wednesday night. After he'd discussed immigration and relations with Latin America, an audience member lobbed him a softball question: Who is your favorite Marvel superhero? "I like the old school guys like Batman," Bush said, apparently unaware that Batman is the territory of DC Comics. Then he mentioned seeing an ad for the new CBS show Supergirl, starring Melissa Benoist, per CNN. "She looked pretty hot. I don't know which channel it's on, but I'm looking forward to that," he said, following that up with, "That'll make news." Indeed:

  • Here's "a rare breed of Biden-esque politician who manages to rise (almost) to the top while consistently saying things out loud that probably shouldn't be said out loud," writes Elliot Hannon at Slate.
  • It was "the addendum no one asked for" and "a supremely odd moment that adds to his streak of shirt-unbuttoning and awkward high-fives," writes Nick Visser at the Huffington Post.
  • "Jeb Bush thinks Supergirl is hot and we're all uncomfortable with that," Andrea Romano chimes in at Mashable. "The only thing missing was a chorus of chest bumps, high fives and shouting 'amiright?'"
  • Margaret Hartmann at New York keeps her feedback short and sweet: That was the "worst possible answer."
