A Texas driver who gained infamy in recent days because he was captured on video sideswiping a motorcycle—seemingly on purpose—now says spiders are to blame. William Crum, 68, tells CBS Dallas-Fort Worth that he got bit just as the motorcycle was trying to pass him. "Spiders there ... whatever it bit me," he says. "It's swollen right now. It bit me right in the tendon, so right now I have a tendon that's hurting if I stand. If I walk off I'll limp."

In video captured by another motorcyclist, Crum's vehicle can be seen swerving into the lane to his left and hitting the bike, which immediately spins out of control. Both riders were injured, with one ending up in the ICU with severe road rash, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Crum stopped his car after the accident and repeatedly says, "I don't care" when confronted on video. (More motorcycle stories.)
