When life handed New York University lemons, it made lemon-infused, $300-a-night hotel lobby water with them. Advantages over dorm living include larger beds, housekeeping services, a 24-hour gym, flatscreen TVs, and, of course, chilled flavored water in the lobby. NYU expects 145 of its upperclassmen will be living in the hotel for a full 16-week semester. They're paying the same amount for housing as their fellow students—nearly $8,000 a semester—which means they're getting their hotel stay for the deep discount of just over $70 a night.
