The win moves Colorado into a first place tie with Calgary atop the Northwest Division. Joe Sakic and rookie David Jones each had a goal and two assists for the Avalanche. Colorado has won 10 of its last 14 road contests, reports the Associated Press. Elsewhere in the NHL: Carey Price’s 38 saves gave the Montreal Canadiens a 4-0 victory over New Jersey. The result means that the Habs leapfrog the Devils for first place in the Eastern Conference. Dan Heatley had three goals and an assist in Ottawa’s convincing 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins.
