Israeli police have arrested eight people in Thursday's deadly attack on a Jerusalem seminary, including the father, two brothers, and two cousins of the gunman, who was killed by an off-duty soldier during the attack. The gunman was apparently following orders of Hamas leaders in Syria and Hezbollah, Palestinian sources told Haaretz, and his family had ties to Hamas. Neither group has claimed responsibility.
Jerusalem police identified the shooter Friday as a driver from East Jerusalem who worked in the area near the yeshiva, which he was able to study as he planned the assault and stockpiled weapons and ammunition. Police are still trying to determine how he was able to enter the school undetected with two weapons, including an AK-47. (More Hamas stories.)
