One of the escaped prisoners who led police on an expansive 23-day manhunt through New York was drunk when he was shot and killed by border patrol agents, reports AP. Authorities said Richard Matt, one of two convicted killers who broke out of Clinton Correctional Facility on June 6, had a BAC of 0.18%—more than twice the legal limit for driving. The autopsy also showed that Matt was shot three times in the head, reports NBC News. More than 1,000 officers helped search for Matt and fellow escapee David Sweat, who was captured two days after Matt was killed. (Their prison accomplice is providing details about why she helped.)
