This Texas restaurant goes above and beyond service with a smile. The West Side Cafe in Fort Worth is known for treating its customers like family, and the eatery's kindness went viral last week. Debbie Davis Riddle says she and her husband are regular customers, and they brought in their baby girl, Glory, last month. On Thursday, the couple returned to West Side, but without their daughter. "Our waitress Kayla remembered us and asked where our baby was," Riddle reported on Facebook that day. "Sadly, we had to tell her baby Glory passed away." Later, instead of presenting the Riddles with a bill at the end of their meal, Kayla passed them a note.

"Your ticket has been paid for," the message read. "We are terribly sorry for your loss. God Bless." The server confirmed on Facebook that she paid for the Riddles' meal, WTSP 10 News reports; she also told the couple not to tip her because her gratuity would be covered by the restaurant. Debbie Davis Riddle was inspired to share the random act of kindness on Facebook, and when the post went viral, other West Side customers exchanged stories of the generosity of the restaurant’s staff. On Friday, the cafe responded. "We all feel honored to be a daily part of such a great community," reads the message on Facebook. "Kayla's uncommon act of kindness is a common virtue shared by so many of our great co-workers." Riddle’s post has so far received almost 16,000 likes, and has been shared more than 9,000 times.
