The University of North Carolina celebrated its return to the top of the national rankings by drubbing Florida State 90-77. Tyler Hansbrough shot 10-of-11 from the line, scored 20 points, and grabbed 9 rebounds as No.1 UNC cruised to victory. The win ensures that the Tar Heels’ Saturday meeting at No. 6 Duke will determine the ACC’s regular-season champion, reports the Associated Press.

Jason Rich had 27 points for Florida State, whic was trying to win a fourth consecutive ACC game for the first time since Sam Cassell played for the Seminoles 15 years ago. However, any hope of knocking off North Carolina was quashed when the Tar Heels came out after halftime on fire; they shot 70 percent in the second half. (More basketball stories.)
