A California college student is under arrest after an argument over a video game console left one man dead and two others wounded. Jonquel Brooks opened fire late Monday night in a Fresno apartment building, after an argument over a Sony Playstation escalated. Brooks, on leave from Fresno State, turned himself in late this morning.

The victim, Brant Daniels, had planned to attend Fresno State. Police say the university was never in danger, although students received an pre-dawn email informing them of the shooting. Students who knew Brooks expressed shock. "I've known him since the start of school. I didn't think he was a killer," says one Fresno State sophomore. (More Fresno State stories.)
